Outfit of the Week

At last Spring is here and maxi dresses are quickly hitting the racks. Maxi dresses are probably my favorite thing about sunny, breezy weather. You can wear the same ones year after year too, without having to constantly buy new ones. They are pretty much timeless. Its great to have a few solid ones and maybe a couple patterned ones. The one I'm blogging about today is from two summers ago. It happens to still be my favorite.

I feel like denim can go with anything. I've had this denim jacket for years and I'm always wearing it with something. Blazers, cardigans, or my favorite, a jean jacket. Any of these things will pair perfectly with a maxi dress. I really love the blue of this jacket against the beige of the dress.

I paired this look with a light brown handbag and gold accessories. I love mixing tans with browns and gold, it just looks so classy.

The best part of warm weather is sandals and flip flops. A perfect place to add a little sparkle and shine.

This was an easy look that felt trendy yet comfortable. Whether you do it with dark colors, light colors, or even with patterns. Maxi dresses and denim are timeless pieces and they work so well together.

Happy Spring!

Fresh Flowers For Spring

As Spring approaches we are beginning to see so many beautiful flowers blooming away. The grocery stores are stalked with bunches of Hydrangeas, Lilies, Tulips and more. Bring some of these beauties home for a quick and colorful change to any room. Having fresh flowers around will not only give a room a whole new look but it also helps brighten your mood. People that have fresh flowers around tend to be happier. Makes sense. Anything that pretty and that colorful is sure to a make anyone smile. It's probably why flowers are the most common get well gift.
A few of my favorites are Hydrangeas, Tulips, Hyacinths, and of course colorful Roses.
I love having fresh flowers in the house. A big arrangement on the kitchen island and a few vases filled with fragrant Hyacinth here and there around the living space. Adding limes or apples in the vase water adds a nice look as well. Also try taking a handful of lemon grass and wrap it around the inside of the vase before adding flowers. Here are a few ideas for easy arrangements that anyone can do that are sure to brighten up any room.

Have You Tried Wanelo?

Saturdays are mostly about lounging around at home and enjoying a no schedule day. Well, not really. But that's what this Saturday was like for me. It's nice to sometimes have a lazy lounge day where you don't really do anything productive. It's better to do it on a Saturday so you still have Sunday to catch up on your household duties (cleaning, laundry, & groceries etc). All the things we love. I mean you definitely don't want the weekend to go to a total waste. It's important to take a break from your busy week and list of things to do, and just do nothing. It's a perfect way to recharge yourself.

One of my favorite things to do when I have nothing important to do is window shop. Mainly on my phone. Laying on the couch window shopping while the kids are busy playing or watching TV is one of my favorite weekend activities. Perfect ME time. ;)

I found a great new app called Wanelo. It's a great site that let's you browse through items you might like. Anything from clothing, to jewelry, to furniture, to makeup. It tells you where to buy it, and even links you to the site so you can purchase the item. It also shows you items similar to things you previously clicked on. It's a fun way to browse at random things and also a perfect way to stay on top of new trends. You can save the things you want to one day purchase or just keep it stored for inspiration. It's kind of like Pintrest, except on a whole other level. You can choose which trends to follow and which sites you want to see more of. It's pretty cool and will keep you occupied for hours. A great new way to shop. Even if it is just window shopping.

Check it out and let me know what you guys think.

Enjoy the weekend my friends, and don't forget to Spring forward an hour for the time change.

As If!

"Clueless", one of my all time favorite movies. Remember Cher and her adorable preppy outfits? I was in love with all those cropped sweaters she wore with that button down collared shirt. Well, guess what? they are back!! Fashion is always recycling itself and I'm seeing those cropped sweaters everywhere. I'm so happy because I just love this look. Makes me feel a little like Cher Horowitz, and who doesn't want to be her? ;)

Black, my favorite color to wear. A perfect canvas to add pops of color to. Whether it be brights, lights, or patterns. I paired this black cropped sweater with a patterned flowy blouse. Love the blush pink pattern on the black polyester. They almost look like drops of paint.

The weather keeps playing tricks on us. Yesterday I was enjoying the 70 degree weather while wearing my flip flops and today I needed to pull my boots back out. I don't mind, boots are always fun to wear. I felt they finished this look off perfectly. And I might as well enjoy wearing them until Spring gets here and I'll have to put them away for good (unless it's raining).

This necklace was a gift and it went great with the blush pink in the blouse.

It's fun when old styles make a come back. They wont always come back the same way. They'll have a modern twist to them.

You can do the cropped sweater look so many different ways. Skinny jeans and these adorable blush wedged heels that go perfectly with this blouse is one way. You can even wear it with a long maxi skirt. I love wearing the cropped sweater the way Cher did, with a white button down, except with jeans or leggings rather than the plaid skirt and thigh highs! ;)

This trend is an easy one to follow and I'm glad it's back. It's extremely flattering around the waist when you wear it over something flowy. Something us mom's are always concerned about. ;) A definite item to add to your closet!
